Hairdreams Partial Extensions: Density and Highlights Without Bleaching

Bring back thickness to fine or weakened hair without transforming your whole head of hair. Some hair doesn't need extra length or a full set of extensions. It has simply lost density through the lengths, has thinning or breaking ends, or can no longer handle as much lightening.

The Method

Length or Density, Depending on Your Needs

Whether you want more length or more thickness in a few specific areas, every Hairdreams extension application is tailored to your hair. The number of strands depends on the result you're after: a full application for length, or just a few strands placed where your hair needs them. Either way, no one should be able to tell you're wearing extensions. The strands blend into your existing cut and color, for hair that simply looks longer, fuller or brighter. They last six to eight months.

Are They Right for You?

This approach is especially worth considering when:

  • your hair is fine, but density at the roots is still sufficient;
  • the lengths have thinned or broken;
  • the ends lack thickness;
  • certain areas need reinforcing without adding a lot of hair;
  • you want blond, caramel or lighter highlights while limiting the lightening of your natural hair;
  • a full set of extensions would be unnecessary or too much for the result you want.

Each placement is customized to the density, cut, color and strength of your hair.

More Than a Matter of Length

Extensions as a Corrective Tool

Extensions aren't only for adding length. Used with precision, they become a true corrective tool: sometimes a few strands are enough to add weight back to the ends, correct a thinning area, or create lighter pieces, contrast or a balayage effect, without bleaching your own hair. The number of strands, their color and their placement are determined during a consultation at our Montreal salon.

The Difference

Extensions or Hair Volumizer?

Partial extensions work on thickness, length and color within your existing hair. A hair volumizer meets a different need: it mainly covers or adds density to the top of the head, in cases of more significant density loss or thinning hair. The two techniques therefore don't address the same need.

Whether to add hair extensions is decided during a consultation, based on your hair.
